Auger Flighting

There are different kinds of Auger Flighting available depending on your needs.

Regular Flighting 2 1/2 " to 24 " Diameter (all purpose)
Long and Short Pitch (used to speed or slow grain movement)
Bristle Flighting  6", 8" or 10" (used for bulk seedcorn & soybeans)
Poly Cup (used for bulk seed tender)
Stirrator Flight for 1" shaft (used in grainbins)
Sectional Flighting is available 6" to 52" diameter with 3/16" to 1/2"
gauge (thickness).  This heavier (thicker) flighting is mostly used for
feedwagons, boring machines or posthole diggers.

5 to 10 inch diameter is available in
Super Edge.  Super Edge offers 50% increase in thickness where wear occurs most, providing longer auger life, wear resistance and fewer long-term repairs.

Right or Left Hand

How to Measure Flighting

Look at the illustration below to determine right or left hand.  Remember edge of flighting must be facing you and end curl must be pointing upward.
Still need alittle help?  Then, compare your flighting to that of threads on a bolt.  If you can screw a nut on, it is right hand.

  1. Measure the outside tube the flighting is in.  Use flighting that is 1 inch smaller than the outside tube.
  2. Measure the outside diameter of the pipe the
flighting is welded to.  That is the Inside Diameter of  flighting.
  3. Measure the distance between one round and the next  to get the pitch of the flighting (keep in mind the shorter the pitch the slower the grain will move.)
